How do I disable GPU rendering when using aerender.exe?

I'm trying to run multiple render threads with aerender.exe and it seems the "software only" setting in the project is being ignored.  As soon as I start the renderings, the GPU usage goes crazy and after a short time it crashes and reboots the computer.  I used to render this way on a regular basis and aerender would always use the GPU setting in the project file.  It seems like it no longer does that and I can't find a parameter that controls it via the command line with aerender.exe.

How do I disable GPU rendering when using aerender.exe?

I've never used aerender.exe but I recall hearing that Adobe are moving away from software rendering.

All I can suggest is updating your graphics card drivers and if it is an Nvidia card, try running it in studio mode.

I agree with ShiveringCactus. Try installing the latest Studio driver if you're not already using one. If that doesn't help, feel free to share the crash report so that we can investigate.

Let us know.

Thanks,

Yes I'm using the latest studio drivers.  That's not the issue.

The issue is I want to *NOT* use the GPU because it causes issues when rendering many threads.  This problem is independent of drivers.

I have the project set to *NOT* use the GPU but clearly it is.
