How do I get mocha to mesh track a surface with shadows on it?

Expand the mesh beyond the actual tracking area around the whole foot. You have enough info there with the edges of the foot, the toe nails, the spaces between the toes, the veins and so on. You can always shrink the actual tracking area later.
