How do I make parts of my layer disappear and others appear (and change size of different parts)?

I have a layer with 20 objects from illustrator. I remember there's a wild distort effect, which increases certain parts of the layer and moves others around etc..

Is there an effect that wildy increases and decreases a layer randomly? Or a plugin that wildly changes the opacity or size of a layer?
