Ok, so I had just upgraded from CS6 to CC, I'm editing a video and I go to preview it. It ends up not playing until it renders the entire video. how do I make it to where I can pause the rendering and play what has been rendered, this is how it was in CS6. Thank you.

So how do I fix it?

Aha. Try unchecking "Cache Before Playback."

The Preview panel has had some substantial refinements since CS6. As Andrew referenced, check the settings in there to ensure it's what you want. You can create different settings per hotkey, so you can have a variety of preview options at your fingertips!

Make sure you have the work area defined over the area you want to preview.

Open the Preview pane and make sure the Work Area is defined for previewing.

I believe that is the behavior you'd be expecting, yes.
