How do I remove a game character from its background?

The reason i am bringing this to a forum is because I have searched all over google and have found nothing to help me. I think it's because I don't specifically know how to word what I am looking for.

So basically, I want to take this animation of a character (from a game) and make it transparent. I want only the animation to show with a transparent background, so that I can put whatever I'd like in the background.

I would like to take the character and put him on the outro of a video, if that makes sense. Is this possible? Or am I at least making sense?

Sure. You need to mask/rotto the character out of your source footage inside AE. That will create a composition where everything else will be transparent. You can then export the video with the alpha channel intact - see this link for instructions how:

Thank you very much for the response. Much appreciated. I looked up "mask/rotto" on google and I couldn't find much, What type of tutorial/guide do you think I should look up for this type of thing?

Sorry for asking so many questions.
