how much memory is really needed for after-effects?

I am going to get one of these laptops. Work has lent me it. The product looks great but I was wondering if the memory is ok to run after-effects and premere pro? A lot of editing and big data transfer will be a lot of the task for the machine. Possibily some heavy effects in AE.  My mindset is obviously thinking about older systems, so can I be reasured that this will work ok?
