how to achieve a pause in animation for few moments in after effects

Hi!

I'm new to after-effects. I'm trying to make a small animation. My idea is that the rocket comes out from the backside pause there for a few moments then moves upwards slowly and stays there for a few moments then comes back to its original position rapidly. I've tried to attain this smooth animation for several hours but I didn't succeed. I'm attaching a small video of what I'm trying to do. Kindly guide me on how can I deal with this. Thanks!
