How To Animate A Letter Appearing

So bascially i made this guys logo 3D. I have creative cloud on my school account because im in video production. I made his 2D logo into 3D with Blender. Now he wants me to make it be drawn in with a spray paint. The logo goes behind itself. Because I made it 3D. So my plan is to make a mask over it and animate it. I can't explain it exactly so if you want to help I can show the thing over discord.
