How to apply various formatting to text imported via CSV file?

Hi all, I have an After Effects project that I created to simplify and automate a weekly animation for my team that will automatically scale/place an image, and import text from a CSV file using expressions. 

 

Everything works. However, occasionally, the CSV text will require a couple of words to be italicized. As far as I'm aware, there isn't a way to apply any sort of formating to the text in the CSV file. And I don't see any obvious way to isolate specific words for italics using expressions either. 

 

Do any of you experts have some insight on a possible way to do this?

The simplest way I can think of is to use a Text animator to create faux italics which will allow you to easily use two sliders to set when the italic is appliedand when it stops.
