How to change the default composition duration when i open illustrator file as "composition"

I am trying to open the layered adobe illustrator file as a "composition-retain layer size" in after affects, however every time the composition duration is 15 seconds, is there a way to change it?

After Effects remembers the last composition you created. Create a new comp that is 38 seconds and the next new comp or comp from selected will be 38 seconds unless the selected item is footage (a movie or image sequence).

On the menu bar at the top of the screen open the Composition Setting in the Composition Menu, or hit CTRL-K.

Then just set the duration to whatever you want & hit OK.

If your making the composition longer you'll need to adjust the workspace so it covers the entire composition
