How to create an abstract wave

Question

Hello,I am trying to create a simple animated abstract wave that will projected as a backdrop for an event. I have spent a couple of hours trying to find a tutorial online but have not had any luck. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Your example is all except simple. This kind of organic forms can be achieve using Trapcode Form from Red Giant. Check their website and download a trial. Trapcode Form has some presets very similar to you example.
