How to duplicate a sequence and all subsequences within it

Question

So let's say you have a sequence completely made up of multiple sequences inside of it. Perhaps this is an animation for a lower third or something, or anything else where you'd have to change elements and reuse the whole sequence.

Now imagine that you want to duplicate the sequence to reuse but you'd also like to change things in the subsequences inside of it.

How can I duplicate a sequence while also duplicating and linking to new duplicated subsequences inside of it? For example, if I changed text in a subsequence after duplicating the sequence, both the original sequence and duplicated sequence would show the edited text, which is not wanted.

This is also something I'd also like to know for Premiere Pro, if possible

After Effects: Duplicating a composition in the Project Panel uses all of the existing pre-compositions nested within it, and does NOT create secondary copies. The ways around this:
1. Duplicate the main comp and all of the relevant pre-comps; manually swap them out. (No fun!)
2. Use True Comp Duplicator.
3. Save each instance as its own AE project. (Also no fun!)

The BETTER way to approach this is to make use of Essential Properties. You can use these within After Effects to create template elements for Premiere ... but also to create instance-able elements directly within After Effects!

This may help address some of the Premiere aspect of your question as well. Off-hand, I'm not aware of a way to create separate copies of nested sequences and auto-replace them, though there may be a similar tool to True Comp Duplicator available for Premiere?
