How to hide text in scrolling screen recording

I have a screen recording where I need to hide/mask some text.  Easy enough, but during the recording, the screen scrolls up, as well as the text on the screen.

I've addressed this in the past by using a mask in Premiere Pro (also in After Effects), and keyframing/adjusting position at each frame.  But I'm assuming this is something that could be handled much easier with either Motion Tracking or Content-Aware Fill in After Effects.  However, neither of these methods have worked for me.

Motion Tracking seems to get lost and quickly loses anything on the screen I'm trying to track (note: this is mainly a screen of text/labels, so no large objects...but the contrast is good, with black text on white background).

Content-Aware Fill gave some very odd results since other text scrolls through the same area in subsequent frames.

I'm hoping it's just my lack of experience with Tracking/Content-Aware Fill.  Anyone have any pointers on how best to accomplish this?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @grey30998095pl8p,

Thanks for the message. Welcome to the forum. I would do the job exactly the way you have already been doing it. Perhaps a community member can chime in with a different technique. I hope someone here can provide a more efficient way to achieve the same effect. Cheers.

Thanks,
Kevin

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
