Question

How To Limit animation of composition to one cycle?

Full disclosure.  I am new to AE. ver 23.3.2 Build 3 on PC

I have just built my first animation, which is a logo with two semi-circles rotating 180 degrees with the text growing in the center.

I need this to "play" just once.  In the Preview, I turned off the loop, and it play just once and stops with the logo completely visible which is what I want.

The problem is when I render it keeps looping and not stopping after the initial start.

I found mention of adding a "Fresze Frame" but that option is greyed out.

Can it really be this complicated?  Cannot find a solution.

Thanks in advance.

Unless you are rendering an animated gif with the default settings, any rendered video will only play once.

Your preview may be stuck in an endless loop. Check the Preview Panel settings. Then spend some time in the Learn workspace to learn about the UI and spend some time, I suggest several hours, with the User Guide.

The most inefficient way to learn AE is to dive in, watch a few YouTube tutorials, then start asking questions about the workflows presented by well-meaning enthusiasts that, most often, recite recipes they found somewhere with mediocre workflows and explanations. AE is a complex application, and any app creating visual effects, and motion graphics takes hundreds of hours of practice and study to do anything more than just copy a couple of simple workflows.
