How to make a large number of components pop up one by one in After Effects

Question

I have this Illustrator project which contains 1354 components, now I want to animate them in After Effects so that they start appearing one by one. Can I do this without wasting hours doing it manually?

I assume that you have an AI file with 1354 layers and every layer containing on piece of the artwork.

In this case, you can import it as composition and arrange the layers in time with Rift (https://aescripts.com/rift/).

If you want to add a fade in, you add the keyframes on transparency and copy/paste them on all other layers and then apply Rift.
