Hello out there.

I'm pretty new to After Effect so bear with me - as my requested animation may be pretty simple to do (I don't know yet)!

I've tried to research for quite some time now, but can't seem to find a tutorial or anything that helps be out...

The animation I'm referring to is the one you see as the first animation-pattern in this video (00:03 - 00:53):

Kropsscanning - YouTube

Can anyone please explain to me which techniques are used to make this animation in the beginning, or what this kind of animation is called, so I might find a tutorial like it some place   ?

Kind regards Birgitte

It looks like one animation duplicated, retimed, and recolored. You can do a basic spline animation like this, precompose it, and then make a bunch of copies.

Hey Szalam

Thanks for the quick response, and your help !

I think my problem is how to make the 'single animation'*, not how to duplicate it and re-timing it, and I have no idea what to search for in order to figure out which techniques is used in order to make it in after effect...

My trouble is really on how the lines/shape is pulsing/jumping out the way it is, is that what you call a spline animation or??

*(I attached a photo of what I mean by the "single animation")
