How to make path visible - sometimes it is , sometimes note

Hi

I have a path on a character in a layer. Sometimes when I click the position keyframes the whole path is avialable in the preview window for me to click on and drag, stretch etc.

I clicked out of that comp, into my main one to see how my edits look in context with the project, then clicked back into the comp to do more editing. Now the path is not visible. When I click the keyframes, it still doesn't appear. How do I get it to reappear so I can continue my graphical editing please?
