How to make straight lines using the Pen tool?

Hi, I've been sitting here for 30 minutes trying to figure out how people are making masks straight, instead of curved.

I've watched a lot of tutorials and they seems to be making straight lines without a problem but everytime I try it curves the lines. Very frustrating as I can't see anyone else having the problem. Some have suggested holding Shift, that doesn't work at all so.

Thanks, I was using the Pen tool to mask and turning off "RotoBezier" or some feature along those lines seemed to have done the trick as well.

Hi, if the pen tool remains perfectly still when you click it should give you a straight line, if you want a curved line click and drag while you are holding down the mouse button.

Use the Snap To Grid command.  Works well with the Pen tool.  To see how big the grid is, turn on the Grid View.  You can also alter the size of the grid in Preferences.
