How to make the typewriter animation centered

I want to make a text animation based at the same principles as this one: Instagram

But is there a way to keep the words centered with the typewriter effect, so the words moves along to the left when a new word appears?

This easiest way to do that is not to use the typewriter animation preset, but to animate source text.

Start with a text layer with your first word.

Make sure the paragraph is centred.

Twirl down the text layer

Enable animation for source text.

As you move along the timeline, edit your text. This will add keyframes - and your text will 'typewrite' on by word, while staying centred.
