How to making curves using selection tool and position

I'm trying to learn how to use After Effects, and for that I'm following a tutorial, as shown in figure 1. I have a question. How can I activate the tool like figure 2, to make curves?

To edit a motion path in the Composition panel, select the position property in the timeline, press the "g" key to activate the Pen tool, then use the pen to add new points, hold down the Alt/Option key to change the Convert Point tool to add bezier handles, and start dragging things around.
