How to re-create this photoshop layer blend mode/adjustment layer composition in AE

Question

In photoshop I have a layer group which contains a bunch of layers with blurs on them, each of these layers is set to screen blend mode.

Then I have a gradient map adjustment lap clipped to the group. This maps the gradient to the blurs, as shown.

I'm struggling to create this in AE, I tried using COLORAMA or CC TONER on the adjustment layer which is fine. But I can't work out how to have it only affect the layers I want to to affect.

If I select both the adjustment layer and the blurred layers, and pre-compose, the effect is lost.

Impossible to know. You have not provided any info about your actual settings in AE and how the timeline is structured. Screenshots (uncropped) can tell a lot. that said, chances simply are that you need to change the input phase or another parameter in Colorama when pre-composing, but again, it's not realyl clear what you are actually doing.
