How to Render a Project The Faster!

Hi!

I am Youtube Documentary Video Editor. I use AE and a Plugin Called Geolayers to make, animate and Edit World Maps and add other Effects as well.

My workflow is generally Dividing the Video in Multiple 3 Min Parts and then when I render it, I typically render it in 1 Min or 30 Second Parts!. However it is very inconsistant, sometimes it take 30 Mins other times it takes 4-5 Hours Rendering the same footage. I have Tried both Media Encoder and Render Que but kinda the same.

What i need help with is , how to make more use of my CPU when Rendering and which format to export it so that i can get a faster render. (I can easily convert it to my preferred Format Later if i want.).

Also tell me which HHD/ SSD to render my project into to maximise the render speeds

My PC Specs are

CPU-I5 11400F

RAM-3600Mhz Trident Z

GPU-RX 590GME

SSD1-Kingston (For gaming)

SSD2-Adata Something (For Workflow)

HDD1-1Tb Segate Baracude 7200RPM

HDD2- WD Blue 7200 RPM

Use After Effects 2022 or 2023, making sure that any third party plug-ins are Multi-frame Rendering (MFR) aware.

Upgrade from an i5 processor to an i9.

Install the fastest NVMe or SSD drives that fit your budget.

Render using the High Quality Output Module template.

If you could please elaborate on these 2 Points because I'm not sure what you mean by these.

Upgrading the Processor makes no sense because even the Current one is only being utilized 25-35 Percent While Rendering. When it sometimes jumps to 100 Percent then it renders super quickly

The High Quality Output Module template uses ProRes which renders independant frames quickly, keeping the time it takes to compress to a minimum after the frame is rendered at the whatever the Renders Settings are set to. 1080p will require about 1GB per minutes. It's also very good settings for video editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Premiere Rush, Avid Media Composer, Apple Final Cut Pro or Blackmagic Design DaVinchi Resolve.

If non-MFR effects are used in the After Effects 2022 or newer, then multiple frames cannot render at the same time. Here's a list of third-party plug-ins that are known to be multi-frame ready. We can also check with the publisher - most idicate this on their web site. If a plug-in is not MFR aware, an alert icon will show next to the name in the Effect Controls panel.

Faster processsors mean faster processing. If you know someone who has an i7 or i9 that's the same generation as your i5 or newer, ask if you can open one of your projects on their machine. Then view the detailed performance information in the Composition Profiler and compare that to when the project is open on your machine. Also, download the benchmark project, render it, and compare results with other hardware. RAM and storage media are factors, but processor speed is key. You may find Hardware recommendations for Premiere Pro and After Effects helpful. Scroll down to "Upgrade your system for After Effects 22.0 or later in this order of priority".

Keeping Multi-frame Rendering in mind, you'd want the faster processor to have more cores as well.
