How to save out the preview render?

With Save RAM Preview gone, how does one save the preview render?

As you said, this isn't possible anymore, but you can still take advantage of your cached preview files for a super quick render. Just export a file (I use ProRes) at the same resolution as your Comp panel/whatever resolution your preview files were generated in.

If you cache a timeline at half res then do a normal ProRes export at full res then everything starts from scratch, however, if you go into your output settings and match your comp's frame rate then you should see a super quick export.

I try to do that but it won't export, it starts the render all over again.

Then something else in your Render Settings must not match your Preview settings. Have you tried changing the "Render Settings" preset to "Current Settings" and rendered?
