How to slowly introduce text?

In the video, i've used the typewriter preset on the "running". However, i cant use it on the "down" because it starts typing from the d (i want the ball to reveal it as it bounces).

Ive tried reversing keyframes using the assistant but that just looks like the text is slowly being deleted. How can i make it so the "down" is revealed backwards?

Hi, @Samiul_Ahmed

To reverse the Typewriter text animation preset:

  1. After applying the Typewriter text animation preset to DOWN and AVENUE, choose Animation > Reveal All Modified Properties while those two Layers are selected.  (You can press U twice to do this.)
You should see Animator 1 expanded for both Layers as well as Range Selector 1 and Advanced.
Under Range Selector 1, you should see that the Start property has two keyframes.
  2. For both Layers, select both keyframes for the Start property and then choose Animation > Keyframe Assistant > Time Reverse Keyframes.
  3. Expand Advanced so that you can see the Mode property (it's the third Advanced property down after Units and Based On).  You may need to collapse Advanced and then expand it again.  Then change the Mode pop-up menu from Add to Subtract.
DOWN and AVENUE should now appear for right to left instead of left to right.

Hi,

I recommend using Track Matte to reveal the text layers instead of using the typewriter effect. Here's a tutorial: https://adobe.ly/4nb20DM.

Thanks,

Ishan

It's kind of hard to make a suggestion without seeing your timeline but you may want to duplicate your text layer, have running type on and have an animated mask reveal the rest of your text at the same rate as the ball.
