How to tell what file is being used for proxy

I've got a comp with a dozen or so files, several of which use proxies and I cannot remember which file was the file in the comp was the proxy for. Is there any way to tell what those source files were? Thanks for any help.

You'll have to set each proxy manually. Each footage with a proxy will have a box to its left, in the Project Panel. When a proxy is enabled, the box inside of the box will be filled/shaded - and empty when the proxy is not enabled.

If you delete the original, the proxy goes with it - I'm assuming this since the proxy is not imported into the Project Panel and lives only because of the main/originating file. So, AE won't freak out BUTT it's very likely that you will. ;-)

Look the left of the file name in the Project panel.  If the file has a Proxy set, there will be a check box to the left of the file name.  If the Proxy is enabled, the check box is filled.  If the Proxy is disable,d the check box is empty.

Ideally, you would remove the proxy before deleting it.

Try to avoid deleting files linke to the project while the project is open.  Doing so can damage the internal file structure, causing a crash or crushing the project to become unusable.

If the project is closed, you should be fine deleting a Proxy file.  It will just show as missing when you open the project.

Also, if I delete the file that has a proxy set for it (but keep the proxy file), will AE freak out?
