How to unparent with pick whip?

Can someone remind me how to quickly unparent an object by dragging the pick whip?

As far as I can remember, it is to drag the pick whip to somewhere like a blank space to quickly unparent an object ( without having to click the drop-down menu).

But dragging the pick whip to blank space seems not working for me now.
