How to Use Original Quality Instagram Video Footage as Source Material in After Effects

I am working on a motion graphics project in After Effects where I need to use video clips that were originally posted on Instagram as source footage. The problem I keep running into is that Instagram provides no built in way to retrieve your own previously published videos in original resolution once the local file is deleted from your device. Screenshots and screen recordings are not suitable because the output quality is tied to screen resolution rather than the actual source file quality, which creates noticeable compression artifacts when working in After Effects at higher resolutions.

I recently tried using snapinstaink as a browser based solution to retrieve the original quality video file from the public post URL before importing it into After Effects and the quality difference was significant compared to screen recording. However I noticed that some retrieved video files from Instagram have a variable frame rate which causes sync issues when working with compositions set to a fixed frame rate in After Effects.

Has anyone dealt with this workflow of bringing Instagram sourced video into After Effects and found a reliable way to handle the variable frame rate issue during import, or a recommended transcode settings profile before bringing the footage into the composition.
