I am doing something wrong with Trim paths - the trim Path line shows in my animation - please help!

Hi all,I have done the trim path animation on AE a couple of times and it worked fine, but with solid colours, but with this logo I am working on  has this pastel painting style, so i am not sure if thats the reason, the effect works but the pen tool line I used to guide the trim path shows faded as part of the animation, I am not sure what I am doing wrong, I have tried looking around but no luck yet. Please help!

You cannot get predictable results when you apply Trim Paths to a path that has a fill. Duplicate the objects (the shapes) you want to Trim, then delete the fill from one copy and the stroke from the other. Group the stroked objects and apply trim paths to that group only.
