I can't seem to get After Effects 17.02 to show depth of focus effect

I've made sure classic 3d renderer is turned on (instead of Cinema 4D). I've really tried cranking the aperature up like all of the tutorials are saying. In the top view I make sure the focus distance moves from one to the other in hopes one will fall out as one falls into focus.

Looks like your focal depth is just too shallow. Push that layer back, it should get the proper depth blur.

Hey @KoMaruyama!

Well, I tried lengthening first the focal length, and then the focal distance, and then both together, and any other configuration I could think of. I'm just not seeing the effect preview in my active camera. Any other suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.
