Question

I can't send my media from After Effects to Media encoder, it never shows up.

When I tap Composition>Add to Media Encoder Queue, Media Encoder opens, but the media never appears. I can drag media into ME, but it never exports. After tapping the play button I always see a failed status. Sometimes I see a dynamic link error alert when doing this as well. Oddly, I can export blank compositions with no media in them.

I've been chatting with Adobe support for about two weeks trying to solve this, with no success. At one point I had a support person take over my screen for about two hours. After that I was able to export for about a day, and after that the same error returned. I tried reverting back to old versions of AE and ME.. still didn't work.

Currently running AE 18.4.0, and Media Encoder 15.4.1

Using a mac and running Big Sur 11.2.3

Have you tried opening Media Encoder first. If all else fails, render using the Render Queue and the default Lossless preset in the Output Module, then import the rendered file into the AME.

The problem could be OS update related, AE/AME version related, or it could even be caused by 3rd party software like virus blockers or permissions.

Are your current versions of AE and ME up to date?
