I Need Help! MP4 Not Working All Of A Sudden?

I really don't know what happened. I updated AE to the latest version and now when I convert my project to h264 my media player displays a message saying encoding is not supported (audio plays but not video). Out of curiosity I downloaded VLC player but every mp4 i render in AE seems like its causing VLC to crash! I tried installing k-lite codec pack but it doesn't work either. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. I even tried to revert back the previous version of AE but it doesn't matter what I do, I cant get mp4 renders to work on my media players. Any ideas??

Are you on macOS or Windows? What happens when you import the H.264 in After Effects? Are you able to preview it? Can you try exporting it using Media Encoder?
