I need some guidance -1 (keyframe)

Hi,

I need some guidance from seniors. Sometimes I re-open my AE projects after months and I entirely forget what I did to which layer/s.. I can say from watching movement/animation. But I am curious to know If there is a way to tell which layers have keyframes from 100 layers if not more!! Without selcting them all and press 'U' and scrolling for ages!!! ( I am very impatient ).

Please seniors any way to know?? Thank you

There is a search field in the top right corner of the timeline. If you do not select any layers and type in "puppet," any layer with a Puppet Pin will appear, revealing the property. That goes for all effects. Type in "Mask," or even just "ma," and all masks or any effect with a word that begins with 'ma' will appear in the timeline.

I would also suggest that you make notes using layer markers, set layer colors in groups, and set and follow some naming conventions. My complex projects are full of notes (text guide layers and marker labels), and every layer except original footage is renamed so I can figure out what needs to be done and how I did it when I go back to the project.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. You already seem to know how to reveal keyframes but you don't want to have to review them property by property.

Are you looking for some type of auto summary tool?

Yes, in Character rigging there are lots of layers and controllers. sometimes the layers are more than 100+. Now imagine opening a project you worked on 6 monthes ago, U forget almost all of it, And now U have to scroll 100 layers to see where the keyframes are or which layers have keyframes!! !! I wanted to know if there is any way which will show me which layers have keyframes.. highlight someway or something... I feel bore scolling all the layers to look for keyframes...

maybe a app or something where I will write 'Find the layers which have keframes in this comp'... somthing like this.

I agree with @Rick Gerard on this one, it's literally why you would want to make notes and document the project process.

But for projects that already exist, a AE script would be able to reveal what layers have keyframes. You would probably need to then navigate to the layer yourself.
