Question

Illustrator layers lost their content in After Effects

Hey Guys

I've created several files in Illustrator CC, saved them with layers and imported into After Effects CC as compositions. I work in after effects with no problem. When I leave the application and re-open the project later, the layer content disappears. I can see each layer as an empty transparent layer. And it does not matter if I relink it... It's still empty... I did not make any modification to the illustrator file and never reopened it since it was created. Any idea what the problem could be?

Thanks for helping!

Sadly, you have to save the file in previous version of Illustrator, like 10, and you will have no problems. In the newest versions it happens to me many times, I import an Illustrator file and some layers are empty. MEH.

Without any info about your files nobody can tell you much. Provide screenshots of the AI files, including the layer structure vs. the AE stuff. Also start by flushing out AE's disk caches to enforce a proper refresh.
