Images do not update in Viewer or Layer View

I had 4 artboards in Illustrator that I exported to use as references for compositions.
Now that I dragged them into a composition, they all look the same. They all look like the first artboard!!!
Even when I open it in the Layer window they look the same!

...and it's not the first time that this kind of stuff happens.
Sometimes if I update an Image sequence, that won't update either.

Purgin cache and memory does not help either.
restarting is the only remedy, and that is quite a bummer when I'm ..in the zone.
Is this a bug or my Graphics Card?

Without actual system info nobody can tell you whether there are specific issues/ bugs. The artboard issue is simple: The features currently have several severe bugs in AI like users not being able to reorder and rename them or create overlapping artboards, so simply don't use them and create individual documents with a single artboard.

From what I gather the problem is in Illustrator.
After more or less resaving the image in Photoshop it show it's real image.
A bit of a ....ridiculous tep to have to take, but if they don´t fix that.. we´ll have to set up an action to batch images...
