Question

Import from FCP to After effects

Hello guys,

I have a folder with a bunch of MXF, XML and BIM files. I received this folder from one of my friends and now I want import them into the after effects software. I searched in the internet and tried some options and solutions but still I have problem. How should I import them? It seems I should download and install a special script for this purpose but I even couldn't find this script. Very strange!

I use adobe after effects CC 2015 on my iMac with El Capitain OS but i think my friend has windows platform. Does it matter? Or still I can import them? Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Huh?  FCP doesn't even run on Windows!  You got some further explaining to do, I think....

Yes, you're right. I forgot that FCP doesn't run on Windows platform. I mentioned that because i saw BIM files between them and I think BIM format runs on Windows platform.

You should be able to bring the XML into Premiere or After Effects. What, exact, version of After Effects do you have?

I use After effects CC 2015. When I want import XML files I face to this error message:

AEGP Plugin Pro import:

“Unable to parse XML file.

Please validate XML for proper syntax.” (0:1116)(5027 :: 12)

I don't know what does it mean!

What, exact, version of AE is it? (Version number will start with 13.x)

You might consider trying it in CC 2017 (which you can install alongside your CC 2015 version without affecting it at all).
