Import Problem

So I'm trying to do something in after effects and I need to import and image. But every time I try it says, "Input file doesn't appear to be a PNG file" even though every time, the file is a PNG. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You have to provide more info like actual screenshots of the file e.g. how it looks in Photoshop and its specs such as dimensions, where it was retrieved from and so on. That being said, a simple re-save in PS might repair the file if it's damaged. For anything else more info is required, also including at least some basic system info.
