Imported audio is cut off

I am working on a comp with audio playback. When i import the audio files, the audio track gets cut off at the very end..its clipped a few seconds and missing few voice overs. When i play it on windows media player its completely fine. Once its imported to after effects, it keeps cutting off towards the end and missing, jumping voice in between too.

I tried converting to wav, aac..nothing works. I have updated after effects to the latest version. Check the audio waveform..the marked area is ending abruptly. It is not supposed to end like that. I am on a windows machine with 16gb ram. It is not related to preview. Even the render from media encoder is cut randomly.
