Imported video clip (MP4) only plays first 4 seconds of audio

Hello! I'm importing a video clip (MP4) into After Effects to add some overlays and the audio in the clip only plays for the first 4 seconds, then stops. I can confirm that there is audio in the clip. I see the speaker icon in the layer and I hear it when I play the clip outside after effects. But when I preview the clip in AE, when I scrube the timeline, when I do a RAM preview, and when I export, the audio stops after 4 seconds. I'm on a mac, using AE 23.6. Please and thank you!
