Importing Error to parse (39 :: 0)

Hello Guys, 

I am new to after effects, since I am trying to learn, I need to import a class project

When I try to import a file and check the proper options, I get 
After Effects error: Unable to parse this file.
( 39 :: 0 )

What I need to do?
