Question

Importing larger images crops my image.

When I import a larger image (e.g. 3840x2160) to my 1920x1080 project or composition, it does not show me my complete image and crops it without any warning.
I want to use my full images without having a restriction on my composition. Can somebody help me? thank you so much.

You may want to read the online help on the basics of how AE actually works. You simply have wrong expectations/ a wrong understanding of that stuff.

Pixels are pixels. If your footage (images) is bigger than the comp size, you need to scale them down. You can find the options and the keyboard shortcuts in the Layer/Transform menu.

If you are never going to scale them up to move in on the image or make the layers 3D and move the camera closer, it's a good idea to use Photoshop to scale them down and work with images that are the right size for the comp. Your project will render faster, and you will not lose any quality.

Resize it within the comp to fit.
