importing mov file shows messed up footage

Question

for the past month I have been trying to import a transparent QuickTime .mov file to after effects but it keeps showing the video distorted like the picture. This has been driving me crazy because I can't get any work done with this problem constantly happening. if anybody knows how to fix this PLEASE reply and help immediately.

Your movie has RLE compression. That is an old format, and it is probably corrupted. You could try loading the original clip into the Adobe Media Encoder and rendering a ProRez copy of the footage. The AME may be able to fix the corrupted frames.
