Question

Improve a cleaner and more accurate auto tracing. Also darkening the lines further.

On the project I am working on I used the auto tracing along with the generate stroke effect on the hands of the logo. I notice the tracing isn’t as clean as I would like and the lines aren’t dark enough for me to properly see them. I changed the size of the pixels and the brush hardness.

    Hi Dar_2023,

    Here are a few thing:

    1. In Layer > Auto-trace, the settings that matter most are Threshold, Minimum Area, and Path Fidelity. Lower Path Fidelity for smoother curves; higher Minimum Area to reject noise/small artifacts.

    2. If your source image has soft edges or low contrast, auto-trace will struggle. Try increasing the contrast on the source layer first then run auto-trace on that adjusted layer.

    3. Also, you can try tracing your image in Illustrator using Image Trace.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks,

    Nishu
