I'm trying to render/export lower third graphics as interlaced files for a broadcast project and no matter what I do I get horrible aliasing. Any tips or settings or plugins you'd recommend? Thanks so much!

Correct answer Rick Gerard

NTSC and PAL broadcasters are all broadcasting HD, and interlacing is not part of that equation for almost all programs. I would suggest you contact the channel to see if it is required. Interlacing was required for color Standard Definition broadcasts to save bandwidth. With the introduction of HD and digital transmission, it is no longer required and seldom used.

If you must interlace your output, make sure you view it at 100% scale, and don't be surprised if you get missing scan lines when you pause. The only way to accurately watch and judge an interlaced signal is on a CRT monitor if you can still find one. Your computer does not interlace.
