Question

Is 4 views the default in AE 18 - even for non-3D compositions?

Hello all,

Since the update to AE 18, as part of the "improved" composition toolbar, the Views menu in the toolbar will appear only when a comp contains 3D layers. Which would be fine, but when I want to work in 2D and create a new empty comp, I get 4 views in the comp window - even though they're all the same - and no possibility to change it in the Views menu, since it isn't there. The only way to change this (as far as I've figured) is to create a layer, make it 3D - then the Views menu appears - then set it to one view only and then make the layer 2D again. Not a *huge* problem, but don't tell me it's how that's supposed to work...

A bit crazy, isn't it?

Is there something I should change - in the Preferences or elsewhere - to have a single view layout in the beginning, that'd change to the 4-view one if I create a 3D layer...? Or perhaps to keep the View menu visible, regardless of 2D or 3D? It doesn't take a lot of space...

Thanks in advance for any help,

Mikołaj
