Is AE just for M1 and/or Windows ?
I did not have a chance to use AE before and can say this is my first time to use properly when I saw the MFR benchmark (https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-beta-discussions/multi-frame-rendering-is-here-aka-the-multithreading-you-ve-been-asking-for/td-p/11885358/page/1).
Redering seems not too bad.

But I cannot believe my eyes that preview is awful. just getting 2FPS with either MFR ON or OFF.

Sometime playhead is not moving at all.
I checked all my SSDs whether they are slow but they are not too bad to be honest.

PugetBenchmark

can see the Tracking Score seems low.

I know the CPU is not good as AMD Threadripper or others but still usable right ?
Is this issue by CPU or AE compatibitlity with Mac Pro ?
Is AE only for Windows and/or M1 only ?
