Is it possible to animate text box?

Hello guys,

I've been looking for answers all over the internet but I think maybe my idea is not possible in AE.

So basically, the animation I want to do is the text will start with a wider width like the screenshot below

And then animate to this shorter width version

I did the source text animation but it wasn't smooth enough.

Hope you can help me with this.
