Is it possible to change music/sound fps in AE?

Hi all,

I'm currenting taking an After Effects class. In our current project, we have to animate a piece around sound. All of our compositions we sumbit are supposted to be HDTV 1080 29.97. I watched the tutorial for the project, and our professor simply created a comp with those setting and dragged the song in. My AE, however, doesn't want to play the song file at 29.97fps. It sounds super distorted and slow. For whatever reason, it wants the comp to be 15fps to play the song "normally." Can someone help me out? I'm using the same music file my professor used.

Nothing to do with your music file. Audio doesn't have FPS, anyway. The playback is determined by the sample rate and the duration stored in the file info. That being the case, it's more likely that your audio preferences or preview settings are messed up our your audio hardware is misconfigured to begin with. Since you haven't offered any system information or details on the relevant preferences and settings we can't tell you much more than that. Check this stuff.
