Is it possisble to scrub a different timeline to the comp being previewed?

I cant seem to scub and get a preview of a different comp i did select always preview. im sure iv done this before.

I need the timing of the embeded comp so id like to scrub it and get the preview from the parent comp please help?

You may need to lock the respective comp viewer and/ or turn off the "Previews favor current comp" option on the preview panel.

You can engage the lock icon at the top left of the Composition panel. Check out the screenshot.
