Is there a collection of presets for the included stock-plugins that come with AE?

In looking through the stock effects that come with AE, I noticed that presets are few and far between, specifically the Animation Preset field is nearly always devoid of options.

I'm unclear as to why AE wouldn't want to include presets, as it would seem there would otherwise be a massive duplication of efforts from users all creating similar presets vs. starting with a few good ones.

So I'm wondering if there's a collection (e.g. a zip file) containing such a collection of presets for the stock effects that can be downloaded and simply added to the relevant folder(s) to take advantage of them?

Just do a goofle search for animation presets for AE.  There's MotionArray, Video Hive, AE SCripts and others.  Some cost some don't.

While I don't disagree that additional presets could be helpful, there are a fair amount that will be installed by default.
Are you seeing all of these groups?

Yes, I just went through those and they're very useful.  Where I was getting confused is that in the Effect Controls panel there was a "presets" dropdown for a lot of effects and this would be empty. In looking at it again, I'm not seeing this dropdown anymore.Maybe the app was updated? At any rate, I'm good with these presets - thanks!

Gotcha. They did make a few updates to the UI of the Effect Controls panel recently, to get some of the less-used features out of the way. ("About" can now be accessed by right-clicking on the effect name, for example.)

The little "hamburger menu" for the Effect Controls panel can hide/reveal presets, though you're right that they may not exist for many effects.

There are a great many presets available by searching around online, but beyond the ones I pointed out above, I don't think there are additional ones directly from Adobe.
