Is there a way to access markers' data to use in code?

I am thinking about creating a code that would count number of markers on particular layer and then get their time codes to be accessed by other code.

Is it possible in After Effects without plugins etc? If yes, could someone please guide me to some useful info about it (using markers data in code/expressions).
